Write for us
Northern Stage Review welcomes clear, original pitches about theatre-making and live performance. Bring a specific question, a reader in mind and an angle that can be explored without pretending one production method suits all.
What we welcome
Pitch explainers, comparisons, craft histories, myth-checks and occasion-based pieces about rehearsal, stagecraft, direction, production or performance. A strong piece makes one subject easier to understand, offers concrete examples and respects the variety of ways theatre is made.
Make the pitch specific
Tell us the working title, central idea, proposed category and why the subject will interest a general reader. Include a short outline of the piece and any sources or material you expect to rely on. Do not send a finished article unless requested, and do not include confidential production information.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option, noting that your message is a pitch. We cannot promise a response time or acceptance; please wait for a reply before sending the same idea again.
